I was awarded a Canada Council for the Arts grant (thank you!) for Professional Writers (Creative Writing) to complete two stand-alone sequels to The Darkest Corner of the World.
The stand-alone sequel, Halfway to Freedom, takes place in Estonia during the fall of 1944. When a second Soviet invasion looms in Nazi-occupied Estonia, and threatens seventeen year-old Madli’s dream of freedom, she must make a heart-wrenching choice between a perilous escape to the West, her family, and the love of her life.
The third novel, Seeking Home will continue the journey of Madli and her family to find home after displacement following World War II.
My other works-in-process are a narrative non-fiction picture book about the Singing Revolution in Estonia, an alphabet book about Estonia, and a narrative non-fiction about The Baltic Chain.
